Unique blueprint – Take Action: Plan, Do, Review

Go Pro by Eric Worre book cover

Go Pro by Eric Worre

I’ve been reading Eric Worre’s excellent book about network marketing, ‘Go Pro’ and I wanted to share something from it that I think would benefit every business owner.

Near the end, in the chapter entitled ‘Anything Worthwhile Takes Time’, Eric says, “Almost all of the learning in MLM is in the doing.”

In my experience that’s just as true in any line of business but Eric has a really good formula that, if carried out continuously, leads to ongoing improvement.

This is how he explains it:

“Choose a skill you want to develop.

  1. Make a PLAN.
  2. DO your plan.
  3. REVIEW your results to see how you can do better next time.”

He goes on to point out that, “Most people don’t make a plan, they just charge out and DO. Even more people never REVIEW their results to see how they could improve.”

What he is trying to get his readers to understand is that there are no bad experiences and no good experiences in business; only LEARNING experiences. The outcome should always be improvement – Eric summarises it as follows:

  1. Make a PLAN.
  2. DO your plan.
  3. REVIEW your results to see how you can do better next time.
  4. Make a better PLAN.
  5. DO your better plan.
  6. REVIEW those results, good or bad, to see how you can do better next time.
  7. Never stop applying plan-do-review and you’ll eventually become an expert through trial and error.

If you approach everything in this manner it will eventually become an ingrained habit so that when something you do doesn’t work it stops being a failure and becomes an event on the road to success – no matter what your business journey may be.

Thanks go to Eric Worre for the inspiration (and much of the content) of this post.
