Set up PayPal Payments Pro / Express Checkout

Solution

Once you've been informed by PayPal that your account is ready you need to follow a few steps in your account and then add some information into your Shopfitter / 1-Ecommerce Admin account.

  1. Sign in to your PayPal account
  2. Click on "Profile -> My Selling Preferences"
  3. Find "API access" and click "update" to the right
  4. In the "Option 2" box  click the "Request API Credentials" link
  5. Select "Request API Signature" then click the "Agree and Submit" button
  6. You should now copy the following to be added into your Shopfitter / 1Ecommerce admin
    • API Username
    • API Password
    • API Signature
  7. Log into your Admin account at https://secure.shopfitter.com
  8. Select "Payment Gateway" from the left menu
  9. Tick the box next to "PayPal (Website Payments Pro)" or "PayPal (Express Checkout)"
  10. Enter the API Username, Password and Signature into the appropriate fields (see picture below)
  11. Click the "Update Payment Types" button at the top or bottom of the page.
  12. Finally, if you want your customers to include a phone number (recommended) go back to Profile -> My Selling Preferences and then click the Update link next to Website Preferences.
  13. Scroll down to "Contact Telephone Number" and select "On (Required Field) then Save.

Use this method to integrate both PayPal Payments Pro and Express Checkout at the same time or just one or the other as required.
